BROADWAY REVUE – TUESDAYS 4:15-5:30 pm
(Instructors Lamun, Boughton, Wagner) for grades 1-5
Be IN a play (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown) and learn all about auditioning, stage movement, diction, singing and dance. Final performance is free for parents and friends and showcases the talents and growth of the actor/singer/dancers. Basic costumes provided, but kids make props and set.
ACTING UP I – WEDNESDAYS 4:15-5:00 pm
(Instructor Lamun) for pre-K and Kindergarten, ages 4-6
Let’s give these youngsters a creative way to express their energy and imagination by acting out stories they make up or know already, nursery rhymes or simple songs. As they have fun, they develop their stage voices, understand basic stage movement and grow in confidence by performing for others.
ACTING UP II – WEDNESDAYS 5:00-6:00 pm
(Instructor Lamun) for grades 1-5
This class will decide on a non-musical play and rehearse it in preparation for final performance on the last class day. As they do so, they will explore improvisation, learn basic stage movement, develop vocal strength and memorization skills. Theatre games and pantomime play will add to the fun.
ACTING UP III – THURSDAYS 4:15-5:15
(Instructor Lamun) for grades 5-8
Will it be a scripted play, a series of scenes or their own improvised skits that will be performed at the final class? We’ll let the actors decide as they delve into a variety of opportunities for creativity. Pantomime, improvisation, vocal variety and dialects, stage movement and basic dance will all be explored as the class works as a team to create the final product.
